OUR LIVES AND AS WE SEE THE FUTURE
We are at the age where there are not many years ahead of us. We have had a very good life and both of us were born of goodly parents. We did not have as much in material means as some had. At times we had more than some others had. We have always had sufficient for our needs. We know that is because we have lived the laws of fasting and tithing. Both laws teach us to live frugally and within our means. We lived through the depression years with our parents providing for us the necessities of life. Our parents taught us correct principles. At an early age we met and fell in love. The past seventy plus years we have been best friends
Our progenitors were people who came to this country to have the freedom of religion. A couple of those progenitors were Thomas Rogers and Francis Cook who arrived on the Mayflower in 1620. We both have a long line of ancestors who defended our freedom in every war we have been engaged in. They all fought for the freedom of this country and the rights our Constitution provides for us as citizens of this great land.
I had seven sets of Great, Great Grandparents who were driven from their homes located in Nauvoo, Illinois, by mobs wanting to kill them and take their property. These progenitors were driven out of the United States because of their religion. On their way to a land they knew not where except being in the Rocky Mountains. They lived by the principles of the United State Constitution establishing themselves, in the Salt Lake Valley of the Utah Territory. They still flew the United States flag and called themselves, Americans even though America had turned on them. Those early pioneers were asked by the United State Government to supply the government with 500 men to go South to fight the Mexican’s in the war between the US and Mexico. That meant leaving their families on the trail to fend for themselves without knowing exactly where their families would be when the war was over. One such person from June’s family was Eunice Reazor Brown who went with her 9 children and her husband James Polly Brown on the long march to fight a war that ended before any of them had to fight. They were called the Mormon Battalion.
I tell you this to lay the ground work for what I am about to say. June and I as Latter-day Saints have the belief that the Constitution of these United States was inspired of God and Jesus Christ as to the way this great country was to be established. It was given to us as a nation of free people. The Constitution was established by inspired men who listened to the promptings of the spirit. The writers of the great document put into it the laws to govern a free society. Those who gave of their time, money and most of all their lives to write the Constitution and The Declaration of Independence, would be appalled if they could see how the document they were inspired to put forth for our good is now hanging by a thread.
We have those in both parties who are tearing this nation apart in order to change what has been the greatest nation in the world. We as a family need to stand by our convictions and be strong against the adversary. The adversaries, being those who sidestep our God given Constitution. The politicians, Judges and Lawyers rewrite and bend the laws that have kept us together as the greatest nation on this earth.
The Administration and the members of The House and Senate are making so many radical changes in our government the founders would not recognize it. They are so anti business and pro union they have destroyed our ability to manufacture anything of any consequence in our once great nation that has given the world, their needs ever since WWI. Now most everything we consume is from other countries. We as a nation are selling our very souls to the devil.
It really concerns us as to the well being of our progeny. We have four children, fourteen grandchildren with families giving us a total of 70 plus people. Those who have governed us in the past as well as those in the present are changing us into a Socialist Country. They have put us in debt so deep all of our great grandchildren will be paying even when they are as old as we are. We feel sorry about what is happening to our children and their children and we want them to know we are not contributors to that debt. We have always paid our share to the government through all the taxes we have paid. We have tried to elect honest men to govern us but without success proven by the mess our country and state are in now.
Over the years we were in business we paid our taxes. We took the chance of starting our own business. Took on the responsibility of giving numerous people jobs. Meeting every payroll as well as giving our employees Major Medical, Hospitalization and Dental Care. At times during those years we had to take big cuts in our own income to meet the needs of our employees. Those who have worked for the Government all their lives don’t understand what a businessperson goes through to keep the employee and their family going. The government, Federal and State are the only ones hiring. The small business people have been the largest employers in the country. Now it is at the point the all mighty government will be the largest employer. What happens when the government takes over all business? To answer that question, take a look at what the government has been managing ever since Franklin D. Roosevelt. That should answer the question. This is Sunday March 21, 2010 the day the Damocrats are passing Healthcare against the will of the majority of the people. Our Marxist Leader, Barack Hussein Obama is leading the way for a complete take over by the far left Progressive Socialist Party. It is a sad day for free Americans and also for our founding fathers who gave even their lives to make sure nothing like this would happen.
Prepare yourselves for a rough ride ahead. All you need to do is look at England, France, Germany and Canada. We are following these countries into the same quagmire they are in. I always thought the people of this country were smarter than allowing this to happen. We are allowing a few to dictate to the majority how we will live. I hope you all have enough food supply as well as other means of support than the US dollar because it will not be worth anything in a short time.
The Prophets have been telling us since the early 1930’s to get out of debt. Live within our means, have a reserve of food and money because the times we are now in were coming. Individuals have made the statement to me about food storage and the amount they had saved then had to throw away because it had gone bad. They were supposed to rotate and replace what was needed to keep a supply on hand. I ask the question why do they buy insurance for the things they have? Most of the time, they are fortunate enough not to file a claim, but they have had the protection and peace of mind by having it.

A PROPHETIC 1944 SPEECH

Norman Mattoon Thomas (November 20, 1884 - December 19, 1968. Some of us are old enough to remember him running for President. He was a leading American socialist, pacifist, and six-time presidential candidate for the Socialist Party of America.

Norman Thomas said this in a 1944 speech:

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of "liberalism," they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened." He went on to say: "I no longer need to run as a Presidential Candidate for the Socialist Party. The Democratic Party has adopted our platform."

The problem with Socialism is that at some point you run out of other people's money. With fewer and fewer people paying taxes and more and more getting benefits, something has to give.

September 14, 2008 Addition to ONLY TIME WILL TELL

On September 14, 2008 I posted on this blog the statement ONLY TIME WILL TELL.
It is now February 20, 2009 and time has passed very quickly with our new Socialist leadership in Washington D.C. It has not taken very long to see what direction Obuma is taking us with the help of our elected officials. We are now a Socialist Country and no longer a Capitalist government. With the government bailing out all of the mismanaged Banks, Mortgage institutions, auto companies, Insurance companies and even Porno Hollywood.
This has come about under a plan put forth by Globalists. These people are now in control of managing our companies and taking away our freedoms.
Our President and the Congress are now going to manage our companies and institutions. Most people in Washington have never run anything except their mouths. Most of them are Lawyers and we all know they, as a group are failures as businessmen. That is why they have ended up in government. They are unable to hold a job in a competitive world of business. They go to work for the government! These Liars (LAWYER) and idiots in Congress cannot run their own house banking without corruption. These Liberals and left of center politicians Damocrats and Rhino Republicans are selling out our great country. People, who are the age of June and I, will not have to pay the full price in what time we have left here in this life. Our children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren will have to pay the debt our politicians have encumbered them with.
Obuma’s motto is spend, spend, spend, and print, print, print, Monopoly money with nothing to back it up. Make the dollar worth nothing in the world.
The time is coming when we will not have free speech and own our own guns. I want our posterity to know that we as their progenitors are not supportive of the way our country is headed. What is difficult for us to understand is how some families are very conservative in the way they live their lives and manage their own affairs. Those same individuals when it comes to government are liberals. There is only one place in the world where I have been able to put one foot in the western hemisphere and the other in the eastern hemisphere at the same time. I liken that to the way we live our lives. We cannot be honest with ourselves being split down the middle. We are not an honest person when we don’t stand up for what we believe in. A politician will tell you what you would like to hear to get your vote. A Statesman will tell you the truth for the good of the country. We have yet to see a Statesman in either party.
It has not taken long for “ONLY TIME WILL TELL” what OBUMA had in HIS mind with HIS platform of CHANGE! All of your CHANGE in his pocket for him to control and spend as he likes. I hope you like the change. I DON’T!

ONLY TIME WILL TELL

I am 82 years of age and have lived through many Presidents. (13) Some have been good and then there are some who have been a disaster to our way of life. I am not pointing a finger at any particular one because there has not been one of them that I agreed with 100% of the time.
I was raised as a Democrat in my youth. Along came Franklin D. Roosevelt with his Social Programs that were intended to be temporary at the time and WWII. I voted the first time for Harry S.Truman. He had enough intestinal fortitude to end the war by dropping the Atomic Bombs on Japan. Thereby saving many American lives by ending the war.
After coming home from the war and settling down, starting a family I became a Republican. As time moved on I became a Conservative Republican and have voted for the Republicans all these many years even though I did not agree with all they proposed. They offered more of what I believed in than the Democrats did.
Over these past few years I have become disenchanted with the Republican Party. As a whole they have become more like the Democrats. Spending money on ear marks, pork barrel as well as graft. It seems to me that most people think the government owes them something. We have become a country of people who have sought pleasure more than the important things of life. We have as a country out sourced most of our manufacturing to other countries. Countries who would stab us in the back at any opportunity. We are becoming weaker by the year and as I see it are giving up the values and standards that this country was built on these past 200+years. Two of my progenitors came on the Mayflower in 1620, Thomas Rogers and Francis Cook. They came to build a new life for their families. All my progenitors came to this country from England, Wales and Scotland. They came to establish a new life for themselves and their families. There was no Food Stamp or Welfare programs, no Medical, no Free Schools for their children. I could go on and on but it all comes down to this time and where we are in our history. We at this time are a bankrupt nation. Our dollar is very weak around the world. The Federal Reserve is printing money 24 hours a day and has nothing to back it up. We as a nation have sold our souls to the devil and his helpers the World Bankers. When it comes to selecting a leader of this great Country we had two choices. One the most Liberal Democrat in the Senate, and the other a Rhino Republican. The people of this country have made their choice. Now we all have to live with their choice. We love our country and family. We don't want our children,
grandchildren and great grandchildren encumbered with so much debt they will have to pass it on to their progeny. I do know with all Obama has promised he will dig even a deeper pit than what has already been dug by both parties. The people of this nation are turning away from God and in time will find they have made a big mistake after we go deeper into Socialism.
Now there are some in my family who most likely will not agree with what I have said. I have said what I said and make no apologies for it. I am who I am, my father's son and a dedicated American. Only time will tell how big a mistake has been made with their choice of Obama and Biden along with the House and Senate and soon to be the Supreme Court Justice replacements.

God Bless This Great Country In Our Time Of Need

The following is from the Dedicatory Prayer of the Los Angeles California Temple given by President David O. McKay 11 March 1956.

We are grateful for this land of America, “choice above all other lands.” The freedom vouchsafed by the Constitution of the United States, which guarantees to every man the right to worship Thee in accordance with the dictates of his own conscience, made possible the establishment of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. O Father, may the American people not forget Thee! Help us to see the greatness of this country and to minimize its weaknesses. We express gratitude for the right of the people to resort to the ballot, and for freedom to meet in legislative halls to settle problems and disputes without fear of coercion of dictators, secret police, or slave camps. Help people everywhere to sense more clearly that government exists for the protection of the individual—not the individual for the government.

This is our home away from home.
It has been our privilege to serve in this temple since March 4, 1987.
Serving the Lord has become our life not only in this beautiful House of the Lord but in all we do. Our service in the temple has included, serving in the following positions over the past 21 years.
Ordinance Workers, Baptistery Supervisors, Trainers, June as shift coordinator and the Assistant to two of the Temple Matrons Shelia Packard and Charlene Sorenson. Bill as a sealer for the past 20 years and the Second Counselor in the Temple Presidency to President LaVon Heber Packard and First Counselor to President Nile Alma Sorenson. Our service has been highlighted by serving in the Nauvoo Illinois Temple during the months of April 2004 through October 2004. The Nauvoo service was like the frosting on the cake. As in the Los Angeles Temple, we have served with and associated with the greatest people anyone could associate with.
As a Sealer I have had the privilege to Seal about 1,000 couples (marriage). Many of these couples had been married for "time, and until death do ye part." A temple sealing for couples and their children is for "time and all Eternity." We as Latter-day Saints believe that marriage should be for the Eternities not until death do ye part. Families are and should be Eternal.
I received the Authority to seal from President Ezra Taft Benson under delegated authority to Elder Boyd K. Packer a member of the Twelve Apostles on December 10, 1988. That authority gave me the Sealing powers and authority to seal for the living and the dead in the Los Angeles, California Temple.
As it states in the Book of Mormon, Mosiah 2:17. "And Behold, I tell you these things that ye may learn wisdom; that ye may learn that when ye are in the service of your fellow beings ye are only in the service of your God."
We, as a couple, are happy and grateful for the blessings we received. We were blessed to retire at the age of 57 and dedicate the balance of our lives to the Lord Jesus Christ for the building up of His Kingdom here on the earth.

The Flag Pole Story

As you can determine by the looks of our home we are not pretentious people.
We live in a quiet, respectful neighborhood. Our home is small and very comfortable for the two of us. It is a Grandma, Grandpa type home.
We have one bedroom, office, sewing room, living room, family room, laundry room , two bathrooms and a kitchen. When people come to stay we have 148 suites at the Hilton Hotel a few blocks away for guests.
We are of the conservative persuasion and not of any political party because they are too liberal for us. We were Republicans but that party became the same as the Democrats and we are left without a party.
I served in the US Navy during part of WWII as a Radarman aboard the USS Sacramento in the Pacific Theater of war.
We have shown our patriotism by flying the US flag at our homes for many years.
You can see we have a 20’ flag pole in our yard. We have the flag high up because we have had the misfortune of having four flags stolen from our previous small flagpole.
This flagpole allows us to fly the flag all the time day and night. We have a spotlight on the flag at night. It is high enough so it cannot be stolen.
You would think in our neighborhood we would not have this problem. In today’s world it seems not to matter where you live. There is someone who will do there best to disturb the peaceful way of life.
